The government has issued a statement to close down all schools starting Wednesday, March 11. This has been done in order to safeguard children’s health in the Czech Republic. Schools will remain closed until further notice.

Parental Allowance increase, 2020
As of January 1, 2020, the long-awaited increase in parental allowance will be implemented.
Recall for Olynth HA Nasal Spray
The State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) withdraws from the market nasal spray Olynth HA because people who use it are at risk of microbial contamination. The spray is used against both infectious and allergic rhinitis or sinusitis. People should not use the spray and should return it to the pharmacy immediately.
Measles in Prague
The Czech Television has reported that there has been a rapid increase in Measles in Prague in January 2019. There have been at least 40 cases of measles reported.
CZ Bans Unvaccinated Kids from Schools, Activity Groups
The Czech Republic has decided that unvaccinated children over three years of age will be banned from nursery schools as well as from any other children’s groups. The law should come into force in December this year and precede the European Union’s regulation of two years on official controls.

Paternity leave from February 1, 2018
As on February 1, 2018, new fathers are entitled up to 7 days of paternity leave. As per the amendment in May 2017, this leave for fathers need not be approved by the employer.
