The State Institute for Drug Control (SÚKL) withdraws from the market nasal spray Olynth HA because people who use it are at risk of microbial contamination. The spray is used against both infectious and allergic rhinitis or sinusitis. People should not use the spray and should return it to the pharmacy immediately.

The problem relates specifically to Olynth HA 0.1% spray which is intended for adults and children from the age of seven, namely batches F145560A, F145590A and F145600A. If you find them at home, you can return them to any pharmacy, but preferably to the one you bought the spray.

“The batch concerned is withdrawn due to the risk of microbial contamination and it is necessary to return the packaging of the batch concerned to the pharmacy. The risk of patient health being at risk cannot be ruled out, “said Barbora Petrova, a spokeswoman for the Institute.

Pharmacies will exchange the spray or return the money. The batches in question were available in the Czech Republic from October 28 last year (with availability until 09/2020), but no suspected adverse reaction associated with their use has yet been reported.

The pharmacy returned to the pack will replace the same batch of the same spray; if he does not have another batch available, he will refund 105 crowns per package. The exchange is valid for packed and unused packs of the product. It is possible to bring them to the pharmacies until the end of April.

“In the event of undesirable effects after the use of the withdrawn batches of this medicinal product, we recommend a visit to the attending physician. The occurrence of undesirable effects should be reported to dotazy@its.jnj.com and the State Institute for Drug Control, ” reports SUKL.
