112 is the general emergency line throughout the European Union (similar to the 911 in the USA) . It is used for large scale emergencies. The calls are answered in Czech, English, German, Polish, Russian and French. The number can be dialed from any phone and the call is free. This number can be used for urgent help from Police, Fire Brigade or emergency medical assistance.
