No Pants Subway Ride

No Pants Ride is an annual event taking place in Prague where people, well, ride a metro pant-less. It’s as simple as that!

People gather on a winter day to take off their pants and head to the metro. They wear coats, hats and gloves, it’s still winter after all. They act as strangers and pretend their attire is a completely normal thing. A silly event that brings the smile on people’s faces and teaches you to not take life too seriously.

It all began in New York in 2002 when a comedic group, Improv Everywhere. By 2012 it spread to other countries as well. You can read more about the history of the event here.

If you would like to join the fun, come to Wenceslas Square near the statue on January 12 at 16:30 hours. At 17 hours sharp everyone will head to the metro without their pants. The ride will take around an hour, a loop between Muzuem, Mustek and Florenc. The group will then gather for a celebratory drink at Namesti Miru or I.P. Pavlova at 18:30 hours.
