How to Throw a Bowling Party for your 7-year-old!

A bowling party is one of the easiest themes to have and a really quick one to plan out. The best part is that you don’t have to think about theme-specific activities.  Bowling takes care of that!!

Book the Lanes!! The most important thing to do is to reserve the lanes for your little guests, well in advance. It’s ideal to have 4 kids per lane. Even though the bowling alley may allow more kids per lane, kids run out of patience waiting. Having said that I had 5 kids per lane and it was just fine! Some cool Bowling centres in Prague – SB Centrum, Victoria Bowling, Bowling Smichov.

Party invites. Be sure to prepare some theme-based invitation cards to create some excitement. Here are some ideas I found online to create one yourself, plus one of my own! (Check Photo.) You can even buy some on Zazzle.com or Amazon. But make sure you order it well in advance so you can send it off in time!

Food and Cake. Most Bowling Centers have a restaurant or eatery. Easy eats like pizza, pop-corn, cuppy cakes, veggie or fruit fingers, chips and lemonade will be easily available to order. Check with the Bowling centre whether they allow you to bring in your own food for the birthday party. In that case, you can even bring in your own baked cake! Now, I don’t rely on my baking skills and so I just made sure to order a cake at the restaurant itself. Let them know the name of the child, age and the cake design in advance so they can prepare it early on. Here are some cake designs for you to choose from!

Decorations. Sometimes the decoration options with bowling centres are limited and if its last minute, we have to go with what’s available. But since I started picking my stuff in advance, I managed to find the right theme and colours that I liked. I picked mine from the Pro-Party catalogue and they have everything – plates, cups, table cloth, party decor and napkins in the same theme.  You can check out their catalogue!  You can order online and they deliver by post within about a week.

Party Activities. Well, usually at a bowling party, you don’t need any other activities as most kids love bowling. But just in case a child is bored, of the game and wants to sit down, it would be nice to have some table activities for kids that does not require supervision. I find that a bunch of pictures and colours always help keep a child occupied at least for a half-hour. Here are some bowling themed pictures that you can print out for the party.

Party Favors. At the end of the party its always nice for a child to take home something they like. I usually avoid candy and fill a paper bag with useful kiddie stuff like pencils, erasers or dried fruit. But for something more flamboyant and theme-based, there are colourful ballpoint pens shaped like bowling pins that can be ordered (25 pieces for 13 Euros). Or a mini bowling-alley skittles game.  You can order theme-based favour bags at Pro-party.cz or make your own as I did.
