21 Questions that help start a conversation with kids

Sometimes it’s really hard to get a kid to start talking. As a mother I’ve always been curious about what happened in school each day. But my son – mums the word! Well, after trying out many methods to get words out of his mouth, I thought of a game.
I prepared a list of questions – questions from different areas of his life, school, home, playground, friends, weather and more. Every night before bedtime, he can pick any 3 questions and answer them, and I too will pick 3 questions and answer them. I keep adding and removing questions on the list to keep the game from becoming boring. This helped me a lot in starting a conversation in a fun way. And we both look forward to this fun bedtime activity.

Here are some of the questions on my list:

1What do you like to do when it rains?

2Have you ever lied in school?

3If your teddy could talk, what would you tell it?

4Do you have a supersecret to share?

5Can you tell me 3 things you don’t like about yourself?

6What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever done?

7How according to you should parents behave?

8Do you think teachers are smart or dumb and why?
