A packed lunch can get quite boring for a child. And kids often end up playing and not opening their lunch box at all! So how do you make sure your child looks forward to opening his lunch? Well, lunch box notes! Here are some reasons, why you should write one.
Makes them look forward to lunch
My little boy, prefers playing outside, to eating lunch. And many times, the lunchbox comes home full. So, I started writing lunch notes to encourage him to eat. Something simple like, ‘Strawberries will give you energy to run fast.’ So each time he saw the note he believed that he could run fast. So this, sort of helped him eat a bit instead of running off to play.
Keeps you bonded
I believe that lunch box notes are extremely helpful in keeping you bonded with your child even when they are at school. A child’s life can be quite stressful and lonely at school. At a young age, they have to watch out for themselves, keep their emotions in check and also do schoolwork with full focus. There can be moments when they can feel alone or need a tight hug from mommy. So, a note saying ‘I love you!’ or ‘You’re the best, keep going’ can work wonders for their confidence.
Helps reading skills
Even kids who don’t like to read, love a note written to them. And if it’s their mom, they’d definitely read it! In case you have a child that dislikes reading, try writing her a note instead. You could write a little joke or a quick anecdote that will entertain and bring a giggle. And of course they’ll share the joke at lunch with their friends for a good laugh! It’s also good to write a story in parts and they will look forward to the next part the next day!
