Description: The exhibition commemorates 130 years since Josef Lada was born.
Josef Lada was a Czech painter, writer and illustrator. He is best known for his tranquil landscape scenes. As an illustrator, he gave the form to Good Soldier Svejk; he illustrated over 200 books for intended for children or adults. As a writer he is best known for his book about a little black tomcat who can talk – Mikeš.
In his pictures, there is harmony, no violence. It is a world of positive values. He concentrated on the simple things in life – spring or winter customs and traditions. One of his favorite parts of year was Christmas.
