Many parents feel that a stroller is just another object they need to lug along with their baby and try to avoid taking it along. But a stroller is an amazing thing for parents and has many more uses to it than what new parents can imagine! I’ve listed down some really cool uses for a baby stroller in case you need some pointers.
Storing things for the whole family
A baby stroller doesn’t need to carry only baby things. It can hold things for the entire family when on a trip. When I went on trips with my 2-year-old, the stroller even held my cabin bag in the bottom rack, while my baby slept peacefully all through check-in and security check. Strollers are so useful on outdoor trips to theme parks – we usually dumped large bottles of water for everyone on a hot summer day. Can you imagine carrying 7 litres of water all through Disneyland??
Doubles up as a baby chair
I rarely used any baby chairs at restaurants. My baby always sat in his own hygienic stroller throughout dinner and even fell asleep on a full tummy. That way, we could just roll him out without him breaking into a brawl as we left the restaurant.
Serves well as a shopping cart
There are so many days when my baby and I have just strolled all over town and then picked up really fresh fruit and veggies at the farmers’ market while the shopping cart was the stroller. The bottom rack of the stroller was perfect for books, toys, fruit, or even for just taking stuff over to my friend’s home for a nightcap.
Works as a changing table and toilet pass
The stroller has always been my changing table when we’re out for a walk in the woods or at a park. And of course, when I needed to use the toilet and there was a long queue at the airport or theme parks, I just could skip the line with the stroller to use a parental loo with a change table.
Makes for a useful sleep zone for even older kids
What do you do when a 7-year-old is tired in Legoland and wants a tiny nap? Just hold on to your baby and let the older one have a go. While you can carry a baby you can’t carry a 7-year-old. But it’s easy to lug along a 7-year-old in a stroller 😊 Although it seems unsafe to have a heavy child on a stroller, most strollers are capable of holding weight up to 8 years of age. And, you needn’t push him around. You can have a coffee at a coffee shop while he finishes a refreshing nap in a parked stroller before you hit the rides again!
