Taking place on two of Prague’s squares, Velikonocni Trhy or Easter Markets brighten up the city with their vibrant decorations. The main markets are at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square (5 minutes walk from each other). There are also smaller markets held at Republic Square, at Havel’s Market, on Kampa Island and on the square in front of St. George’s Basilica at Prague Castle.
The markets attract people of all ages with a wide range of activities they offer. You can have some great family time during the market experiencing local handicrafts, watching traditional folk dancing performances, and enjoying tasty Czech food. What is more, Prague Easter Markets offer a number of awesome activities particularly for children – Among these are hand painting of Easter eggs and flower pots, cutting colourful ribbons, making baskets and whips.
And some good news for animal lovers! Prague Easter Markets also have farmyard pens where kids can feed and pet domestic animals. Sounds like lots of fun, doesn’t it? Don’t miss the opportunity and make sure to experience the unique atmosphere of Czech Easter at one of the spots listed below:
