The Prague transport company (DPP) is preparing to have free Wifi at metro stations in Prague. According to www.metro.cz, the company has already bought the necessary equipment for a trial run in some of the busy metro stations in Prague – Hlavní nádraží, Pražského povstání, Náměstí Republiky, Smíchovské nádraží, Florenc B and Florenc C.

JCDecaux, a city furniture company, launched wi-fi free at some tram stops this June. They started off at 27 busy spots in Prague like Florenc, Anděl, Náměstí Míru, I.Pavlova and Husinecké. By the end of this year they want to get to three hundred stops.

As per Tomas Tenzer, technical director, JCDecaux thousands of people are signing into these wifi spots. According to JCDecaux, there are thirty thousand connections per day and their number is growing every month.

So now the waiting or travel time in the above spots or Metro stations, will be useful to catch up with a friend or to brouse through email on the web!
